Construction

Our buildings have been part of New Zealand’s landscape for over 50 years. That’s because we build them to last, with rock-solid framing and construction.

Frames

Skyline frames make buildings long-lasting and resistant to wear and tear.

Kiln-dried timber

We make our buildings’ frames with 90mm x 45mm stress-graded, kiln-dried timber. This is essentially the same as the old 4x2 framing timber except it’s been roasted in a kiln. That means it won’t twist or warp after a summer scorcher.

Trusses and studs

Framing studs are at 600 mm centres and with noggings, giving it added strength. We top that off by using special truss to stud and frame connections, so you can be sure there isn’t a weak point anywhere.

Stud height

If you’re over two metres tall (or want to park something other than a standard car) it might pay to give this section a read.

Standard height

The standard Skyline stud height of 2.1m is perfect if you’re just storing a car, but popular heights also include 2.4m, 2.7m and 3m.

Custom heights

You may want something a bit higher than our standard height to fit the fork lift, boat, truck or F-16. So if you need something a bit different, we can arrange almost anything.
